Magento Technical Lead

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Engineer and implement Magento 2 digital commerce solutions
• Integrate with major external systems including ERP, CRM, OMS, payment gateway system, middleware, and other systems
• Engineer custom prospect/client solutions to be presented
• Conduct Technical Discovery sessions directly with prospects and customers. Technical Discovery is designed to uncover any and all technical and marketing requirements, key business goals, and potential issues
• Evaluating clients' 1st and 3rd party data integration, technology vendor requirements, and engineering strategies for the platform
• Engage in a rapid education process including formal training, self-study and field experience designed to position the candidate as a technical expert on Magento Commerce and related solutions as quickly as possible
• Work closely with architects to create standardized processes and solutions
• Keep up to date with all industry changes and latest methodology within the digital commerce industry
• Provide technical oversight to software engineer teams
• Meet or exceed quarterly EDP objectives

MUST HAVE

• Minimum 5 years’ software engineer experience with PHP and Magento
• Minimum 2 years’ technical lead experience with Magento2
• Fluent in English
• Ability to articulate the omni-channel end to end commerce value proposition
• Strong integration and architectural knowledge of the Magento platform
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
• Experience in mentoring software engineer teams
• Exceptional problem solving
• Expert PHP and Object Oriented Software Engineer skills
• Experience working with open source LAMP/LEMP stack, particularly PHP and MySQL, and the use of creation of third party libraries and frameworks
• Familiarity with the following preferred: JavaScript, HTML5, XML/ XSL, SOAP, REST, AJAX, CSS3
• Strong understanding of Design Patterns
• Good team player who can work with people of all levels / backgrounds
• Working software engineer knowledge of shipping, payment gateway integration for E-commerce websites
• Engineer API’s that integrate with all majors ERP, CRM, and other systems

DESIRABLES

• Experience of working in the following industry sectors: retail, media/entertainment and/or computer/product manufacturing
• Enterprise architecture knowledge and experience such as Infrastructure, Applications, E-Commerce, Integration Structure (EAI)
• Complimentary market knowledge/competitive landscape in assisted service, self service, commerce, marketing services, content/knowledge management, analytics, CRM, multi channel
• Understanding of the Magento business user tools and Magento product lines (Cloud, BI, OMS, Shipping)
• Strong presentation skills and ability to present business solutions to senior executives as well as technology to engineers
• Ability to present intricate architectures (“deep dive”) to senior level technical personnel
• Experience of defining and managing the scope of projects
• Engineering of new Magento extensions
• Contribution of Magento open source engineering
